Pediatric Airway Health:
Where Form meets Function with Medicine, Dentistry, and Surgery
with Dr. Umakanth Katwa & Dr. Stanley Liu

Building on the foundation of the Pediatric Mini-Residency with Dr. Ben Miraglia, this advanced program dives deeper into pediatric airway orthodontics—bridging early diagnosis, functional therapy, and expansion techniques across developmental stages.
Through real case studies and hands-on expander design discussions, participants will learn to confidently plan and execute airway-centered orthodontic treatments for patients ages 3 to 12.
Pediatric Airway Health: Where Form meets Function with Medicine, Dentistry, and Surgery

with Drs. Umakanth Katwa & Stanley Liu
This must-see, interdisciplinary course for all dental professionals redefines how we understand, communicate, and collaborate in pediatric airway health.
Led by Dr. Umakanth Katwa, Pediatric Pulmonologist and Sleep Medicine Specialist, and Dr. Stanley Liu, Oral & Maxillofacial and ENT-sleep surgeon, the program explores how craniofacial growth and airway physiology shape children’s breathing, function, and overall development. Through engaging lectures and case-based discussions, attendees will gain practical insights into recognizing early dysfunction, aligning medical and dental diagnostics, and co-managing care to promote optimal growth and lifelong health.
Understand the relationship between craniofacial growth, airway physiology, and pediatric breathing patterns.
Identify early developmental markers and dysfunctions that compromise airway health in children.
Integrate collaborative medical–dental-surgical strategies to enhance communication, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes.
Apply evidence-based approaches to guide craniofacial growth and support functional breathing during critical developmental stages.
Recognize how early intervention can prevent long-term airway, sleep, and structural health issues in pediatric patients.
